A family group conference is a decision making and planning process whereby the wider family group makes plans and decisions for children and young people who have been identified by the family themselves or by service providers as being in need of a plan that will safeguard and promote their welfare.

After a successful tendering process Alliance were awarded the lead provider status for providing Family Group Conferencing (FGC) to families in Stockton.  We work towards the standards piloted by the Family Rights Group, the National FGC network and supported by the DfE.  As a Lead Provider we have demonstrated that we have;

  • In depth understanding of the practice and theory of FGC work.
  • Commitment to and experience of working in partnership with vulnerable children, young people and families.
  • Skills in engaging families and professionals, approachable with strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A good understanding of current Children’s Services agendas and Targeted Services offer to children, young people and families.
