Counselling for Depression is a talking therapy and is a manualised model specifically for working with Depression. It is based upon a person centred experiential model and is particularly appropriate for people with persistent sub-threshold depressive symptoms or mild to moderate depression.
We can deliver sessions over the telephone or face to face, either in your GP practice (subject to availability) or one of our own venues.
Sessions last up to 1 hour and are generally weekly or fortnightly.
It can help you understand the underlying causes for Depression such as earlier life events which may affect how you view yourself, or identifying patterns of behaviour which may make things worse.
It can help you understand your own expectations of yourself which may be unrealistic or difficult to maintain and to find alternative ways of dealing with life's challenges.
It can offer a safe non-judgemental space to help you to understand the underlying causes, find methods of coping and to find ways forward.
