There may be times when you feel like you don’t want to speak in-person with a counsellor or have difficulty getting to one of our venues so as well as face-to-face counselling Alliance offers a range of flexible telephone counselling options.
Continuity of care is really important for building a trusting and understanding relationship so you will usually work with the same counsellor from start to finish. There is usually a maximum number of sessions that your employer will provide but you can decide how to spread those sessions for maximum benefit.
The counselling service is completely confidential and your counsellor will explain this to you in your first session. No information goes back to work or your GP and nothing can be disclosed about your therapy without your consent.
There may be circumstances where you counsellor needs to discuss an aspect of your case with someone else. This would only be done with a very specific reason:
