We are recruiting several Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP) to start the course at Newcastle University in October 2026, to work within our Impact on Teesside NHS Talking Therapies service. Successful candidates will need to start in role prior to the course starting to allow time to learn about Impact and have an induction. They will complete the Low Intensity Psychological therapies PGCert course during their first year within the post. Salaries for the PWP training posts will be £26,000 per annum increasing to £27,000 per annum once qualified.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will provide a range of evidence based low intensity psychological interventions within the framework of the national NHS England Talking Therapies programme as part of the Impact on Teesside NHS Talking Therapies service.
They will also work within Impact's duty team where they will offer assessment and support to patients referred into the service.
The postholder will work as part of the Impact team in clinical practice for a min. of 3 days across the week whilst attending the PWP training programme.
This position requires flexible working hours between 8am-8pm Monday to Thursday and 8am-5pm Fridays with the postholder required to work one evening shift per week up to 8pm.
HI CBT Trainees

The Postholder will provide a range of evidence-based psychological interventions within the framework of NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression as part of of Impacts Service across the Tees area. The post-holder will work within the service providing high intensity interventions whilst undertaking a university-based programme of training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy CBT.
The post-holder will work as part of the Impact Clinical team whilst attending the training programme. They will provide a range of evidence-based psychological interventions within the framework of the NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression programme as part of Impacts Team serving GP Practices across the NHS Tees area.
This position requires flexible hours between 8am until 8pm weekdays with the expectation of at least one evening clinic until 8pm as part of the agreed workplan. The service offers a hybrid style of therapy delivery with a mix of face to face and remote working in line with service needs.
Children's Wellbeing Practitioners

This post is employed by Alliance Psychological Services however the successful candidate will work as part of the wider Tees Valley Getting Help partnership contributing to a truly collaborative & integrated model of care. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking, system-wide approach helping to transform how mental health support is delivered to children & young people across the Tees Valley.
The post holder will be part of a wider team that collaboratively provides high-quality brief and evidence-based support that is sensitive to the unique needs and experiences of children & young people. The CWP will provide support to children & young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. These will include Low intensity CBT, Parent Led CBT Anxiety, The Decider Skills and Parent support for behaviour Manchester Model/Investing in Play. The CWP's duties involve a variety of tasks including assessment, intervention and collaboration with other agencies
Administrator - CYPF

The postholder will support the Admin Lead in the delivery of an efficient administrative support service. The post holder will offer administrative support to the CYPF service and provide a first point of contact to CYPF accessing the service. They will also assist the Admin Lead in managing the CYPF database (IAPTUS) and the submissions of monthly data to the Children and Young Peoples Services Data Set via NHS Digital. This role is based at our offices in Billingham however there may be a requirement to provide cover at our other locations in Teesside for example to cover absence.
This role is temporary to cover maternity leave and part time (30 hours per week over four days).
