We are recruiting for a Mental Health Support Worker who will be part of the Mental Health Support Team (MHST), a school and college-based early intervention service that supports children and young people with emerging or mild to moderate emotional wellbeing and mental health needs. MHSTs work closely with education settings, families and partner agencies to provide timely, evidence-based support, promote whole-school approaches to mental health and wellbeing, and help children, young people and families access the right support at the right time.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of the Mental Health Support Worker role is to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, low-intensity, evidence-based support for children, young people and families across Stockton and Hartlepool. Under the supervision of qualified and experienced clinicians, the post holder will support screening, triage, psychoeducation, advice, guidance and signposting within agreed care plans and service pathways. Working as part of the CYPF service, they will maintain effective partnerships with schools, colleges, families, community organisations and wider mental health services, while upholding safeguarding, confidentiality, professional standards and Alliances values. The role is central to improving early access to emotional wellbeing support, reducing barriers to help, and supporting positive outcomes for children and young people.
